Our highly-trained licensed physical therapists and physical therapy assistants provide physical therapy modalities under the direction of our medical doctors. Physical therapy can be helpful for easing pain, increasing movement, and overall improvement of function. Our caring physical therapists and physical therapy assistants provide our patients with compassionate one-on-one supervised care in our state-of-the-art private treatment rooms.
Physical therapy may be combined with other therapies and treatments for optimal results. Our physical therapy department provides the following modalities:
Cold Therapy (Cryotherapy)
Cold therapy (cryotherapy) is used to reduce tissue pain and swelling, especially following an injury. There are many forms of cold therapy, including ice packs or ice massage. Learn More!
Electric Muscle Stimulation
Electric muscle stimulation relaxes tissues to ease both acute and chronic pain, swelling, muscle spasms, and scar tissue (adhesions). Electric muscle stimulation is applied with a small unit that delivers a small painless electrical current to a targeted muscle.
Iontophoresis
Our therapists use iontophoresis to deliver a mild anti-inflammatory medication through the skin to reduce pain and swelling. The iontophoresis technique uses a small painless and harmless electrical current to move the medication.
Mechanical Traction
Mechanical traction is used to separate the space between the bones in the spine to help reduce swelling and back pain and to promote joint movement and hydration to joint structures.
Moist Heat
A moist heat pack is used to relieve muscle spasms, increase relaxation, and increase blood flow to promote healing. Heat therapy can be helpful for relieving pain and muscle stiffness, as well as chronic pain. Learn More!
Paraffin Bath
A soothing paraffin bath uses gentle heat to soothe painful joints in the wrist, hands, and feet. In addition to relieving pain, the warmth eases stiffness and promotes movement. It can be especially helpful for people with arthritis.
Ultrasound
Our physical therapists use ultrasound to deliver deep penetrating heat to tissues to provide a micro-massage effect. Ultrasound can be helpful for relieving painful muscles, tendons, and ligaments where they attach near the bone, as well as for breaking down scar tissue and reducing swelling. Learn More!
